After All Is Said and Done:

No, did not get an interview

I applied for an Administrative Assistant Position for Providence. Spent an hour applying and tailoring a coverletter, paid off cuz I got the interview. They had only two times available on a single day, both in the middle of the day. Fine. I take the day off using my vacation time and ready to go home and prep. But oh wait. Right before the last break of my workday at 2PM I get a call and they tell me their suspending the entire position and will not be hiring. Mind you, the interview was the very next day at noon, so less than even 24 hours of notice. My contract is ending with the WA state and we're currently going through a hiring freeze ao it's probably not going to get renewed. Eventually if it did the Govenor is recommending that all state workers furlough once a month to make up for the deficit (he gets a nice raise though, good for him.) Did everything right. Worked through college, didn't take out student loans paid it off myself (community college and running start gave me an associates in business specializing in accounting.) I have the education and 5 years of work experience, tailor all my applications, resume, and cover letters.
